about group work
Leading a group process requires someone who quickly understands and relates to the group, provides a variety of methods to move the process along, and communicates effectively. Susanna has facilitated projects as diverse as developing strategic business plans, bringing a community together as they explore new transportation alternatives, resolving long-standing conflicts over land use, and coming to consensus on a new high school schedule.

What gets me excited is when the people in a group start to trust each other and begin to take risks and open up – then the creativity starts flowing and “group think” takes over.  This is when the power of the whole becomes so much more than the sum of the parts.  The ideas that come forward when a group is in this kind of flow amaze me, and long-standing conflicts can be set aside for the good of the organization’s vision.
